Our Mission
Our mission at The Live Oak is very simple – to foster community to affect community. We believe that food, drink and music are the indelibly interwoven thread with the unique ability to catalyze community, to draw people together. Along with many others in our great city, we believe that Fort Worth is in need of a revival – not only musically but also socially and economically. Our goal is to not only run a wonderfully designed music venue but to encourage and connect with important, relevant causes in the Near Southside neighborhood and beyond.
Through active projects and a scope to move swiftly, The Live Oak’s mission will involve outreach programs including, but not limited to, fundraising nights and volunteer-based music mentoring sessions.The team at The Live Oak are working with local musicians to develop and implement free music lessons in the afternoons for local youth. The goal is for the Live Oak to become part of an even bigger future program to work with other organizations in the community to encourage students to stay in school, graduate, and lead productive lives as contributing citizens of our community.
